Description Michal Jaegermann 2006-09-03 21:31:04 UTC
Description of problem:

It appears that in recent updates libtiff lost /usr/bin/tiffgt;
but not entirely as we still have
/usr/share/man/man1/tiffgt.1.gz
/usr/share/doc/libtiff-devel-3.7.4/html/man/tiffgt.1.html
with the later coming from libtiff-devel package.
Is this on purpose? At least recent changelog is silent on
the topic although there is some old entry for 3.6.1-1.

Rawhide is a bit more consistent here. It includes only
/usr/share/doc/libtiff-devel-3.8.2/html/man/tiffgt.1.html

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
libtiff-3.7.4-8
libtiff-3.8.2-5

Comment 1 Tom Lane 2007-07-20 02:04:11 UTC
Yeah, removal of tiffgt is intentional, but the man page was overlooked for awhile and the html page for
even longer. Cleaned up as of CVS HEAD.

Fedora apologizes that these issues have not been resolved yet. We're
sorry it's taken so long for your bug to be properly triaged and acted
on. We appreciate the time you took to report this issue and want to
make sure no important bugs slip through the cracks.

If you're currently running a version of Fedora Core between 1 and 6,
please note that Fedora no longer maintains these releases. We strongly
encourage you to upgrade to a current Fedora release. In order to
refocus our efforts as a project we are flagging all of the open bugs
for releases which are no longer maintained and closing them.

the change.

Thanks for your help, and we apologize again that we haven't handled
