Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 206260
Samba fails to recognise valid users = @netgroup under LDAP and no YP
Last modified: 2010-10-22 02:01:35 EDT
Description of problem:
Samba administrators cannot let members of a netgroup to be allowed to access
files on the share when the NIS domain is empty or not defined.
When using :
valid users = @netgroup
Syslog will report :
check_access: no hostnames in host allow/deny list.
Allowed connection from (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
Unable to get default yp domain
Invalid username/password for testdrw [sa_gadav]
error packet at smbd/reply.c(166) cmd=117 (SMBtconX) NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
However if the administrator sets a user from that netgroup, then it's fine.
Applying patches from samba3 rev.17408 makes the problem disappear, Committed to
