Unable to do graphic install in Intel 945G system
Last modified: 2009-06-19 05:01:55 EDT
Description of problem:
Running anaconda (….)
Probing for video card: intel corporation 945G/GZ Express Integrated Graphics
Attempting to start native X Server
Waiting for X server to start…. Log located in /tmp/ramfs/X.log
1…2…3…4…5 X server started successfully.
_X11TransSocketINETConnect() can’t get address for localhost:6001: Temporary
failure in name resolution.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHEL5 beta1 Client from DVD (RHEL5-Client-20060830.1-i386-DVD.iso)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install on a 945G based system
hangs in there. ^C reboots
go on to graphics install
same DVD is getting to graphical install ok in 946GZ and in 965 a.k.a Broadwater
(although I'm having other issues there, like rebooting and having a frequency
too high for my LCD panel).
Same 945G systems works fine with many, multiple distros.
Reassigning to X, although I think a lot of these have been resolved post-b1
This should be fixed as of 1.6.5-6.
