Description Filip Balák 2022-04-22 15:23:05 UTC
Description of problem:
It is possible to create a PVC larger than what is requested capacity during consumer add-on deployment. If this happens and capacity of the consumer cluster is utilized but the PVC still has enough unused space then the utilization is stopped and all space on the cluster is filled without notifying user that there is no more space.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ocs-operator.v4.10.0
OCP 4.10.8

How reproducible:
1/1

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Deploy provider cluster with 4 TiB capacity
2. Deploy consumer cluster with 1 TiB capacity
3. Create PVC on consumer with requested capacity 4 TiB
4. Utilize the PVC from consumer

Actual results:
Utilization stops at 1 TiB and no more data can be written to the cluster. There is no alert raised that the capacity is filled.

Expected results:
User should be notified during the utilization process that the cluster is getting filled.

There is no quota feature for consumer now. Should this be CLOSED with reasoning WONTFIX?

Comment 2 Leela Venkaiah Gangavarapu 2022-07-20 07:10:04 UTC
Filip,

Yes, this bug can be closed, in v2.0.2 of deployer we removed the option for consumer quota.
