Please, branch and build package gnome-calendar for EPEL9.
Since F36 (GNOME 42) gnome-calendar requires gtk4 4.6 but RHEL9 has only 4.4, so at most this would have to be from F35 (GNOME 41), or from F34 (GNOME 40) to match the rest of RHEL9. Either way, two dependencies -- libdazzle-devel and libhandy-devel -- are missing from RHEL. These can be substituted with EPEL-only packages as outlined in https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/epel-policy-missing-sub-packages/ I am also interested in gnome-calendar for EPEL9 as a dependency of other packages. If you are willing to maintain this in EPEL, then I can help with the EPEL-only packages if you need. If you are not interested, then I am willing to do so for EPEL.
It would be awesome if you could help, Yaakov. Thanks! Are you part of epel-packagers-sig?
Yes, I am. I filed the following to create the EPEL-only packages for the missing dependencies: https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/49728 https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/49729
OK, I added @epel-packagers-sig to the package. Thanks for the help with this!
Dependencies are built, requested branch: https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/49778
