Description Wolfgang Ulbrich 2022-07-10 09:24:17 UTC
Please branch and build libappindicator in epel8

If you do not wish to maintain libappindicator in epel8,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS raveit65);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libappindicator/adduser

Note: I am just building the whole MATE desktop for epel8 and libappindicator is needed to build mate-polkit.

Thank you

libappindicator is in RHEL 8.

Comment 2 Wolfgang Ulbrich 2022-07-10 10:21:24 UTC
Opps, my fault. libappindicator-gtk3-devel is in the powertools repo.

```
[root@rock8 ~]# dnf list libappindicator*
Installed Packages
libappindicator-gtk3.x86_64                       12.10.0-19.el8                  @appstream
Available Packages
libappindicator-gtk3.i686                         12.10.0-19.el8                  appstream
libappindicator-gtk3-devel.i686                   12.10.0-19.el8                  powertools
libappindicator-gtk3-devel.x86_64                 12.10.0-19.el8                  powertools
```

Does Epel use the powertools repo when building at koji build server?

Comment 3 Neal Gompa 2022-07-10 13:06:44 UTC
Yes it does. You need to enable powertools at runtime though: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/#_el8

Fine, thanks for the link
