Description of problem: Selinux gives the following error when I launch the Flatpak version of OBS. The source process: gdb Attempted this access:read On this chr_file: nvidiactl SELinux is preventing gdb from read access on the chr_file nvidiactl. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that gdb should be allowed read access on the nvidiactl chr_file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # ausearch -c 'gdb' --raw | audit2allow -M my-gdb # semodule -X 300 -i my-gdb.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:abrt_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 Target Context system_u:object_r:xserver_misc_device_t:s0 Target Objects nvidiactl [ chr_file ] Source gdb Source Path gdb Port <Unknown> Host fedora Source RPM Packages Target RPM Packages SELinux Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-36.10-1.fc36.noarch Local Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-36.10-1.fc36.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name fedora Platform Linux fedora 5.18.13-200.fc36.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri Jul 22 14:03:36 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 275 First Seen 2022-07-27 08:11:42 EDT Last Seen 2022-07-27 08:51:32 EDT Local ID 5ea0f598-c0db-4dc2-bc42-cfbc449d5884 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1658926292.163:1124): avc: denied { read } for pid=102899 comm="gdb" name="nvidiactl" dev="devtmpfs" ino=822 scontext=system_u:system_r:abrt_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=system_u:object_r:xserver_misc_device_t:s0 tclass=chr_file permissive=0 Hash: gdb,abrt_t,xserver_misc_device_t,chr_file,read Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Happens every single time I close OBS (flatpak version) Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch OBS 2. Close OBS by hitting the X 3. Program gives a crash warning and then shows a SELinux error Actual results: Program crashes after I close it and I get a SELinux error. Expected results: Now crash error or SELinux warning. Additional info: I noticed this started after I updated some nvidia related flatpak packages along with other flatpak packages. Here is what I have installed now related to nvidia. I don't know which one updated though. nvidia-510-68-02 org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nvidia-510-68-02 1.4 system nvidia-515-57 org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nvidia-515-57 1.4 system Also, I did flatpak update without using sudo which I found strange that it worked as updates usually always require administrative permissions for RPM and Debian base systems.
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 36 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 36 on 2023-05-16. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '36'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora Linux 36 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version prior to this bug being closed.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle. Changing version to 39.
