Description Jens Petersen 2022-08-22 09:53:28 UTC
This crash was found by Sanket Saikia while testing redhat-fonts-4.0.3-1.el9.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #2119300 +++

Description of problem:
When one is going to change the monospaced font on gnome-terminal, some Red Hat Mono related fonts is available on the list. when selecting one of them, particularly "Red Hat Mono VF Light Italic", gnome-terminal crashes.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
redhat-mono-fonts-4.0.3-1.fc37.noarch

How reproducible:
always

Additional info:
gtk font picker is going to put the related fonts together according to the family name. When installing redhat-mono-fonts, "Red Hat Mono" and "Red Hat Mono VF" should be ideally there though, it isn't actually. this is because the variable fonts is missing "Red Hat Mono VF" in family property for some variants in variable fonts.
This should be a font bug since some variants has both "Red Hat Mono VF" and "Red Hat Mono VF Light Italic" in RedHatMonoVF-Italic.ttf for instance.

This PR is to workaround this issue: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/redhat-fonts/pull-request/2
