Please branch and build libwebp-tools in CentOS Stream 9 Original request here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2104519 This is needed for tools like gif2webp
Thanks for building this for us! It appears to be working as expected. :)
Hi All, It doesn't look like this made it into the CRB repo of RHEL 9.1. Is there a way that we can get it added there too? Thanks!

Of course, it was meant and requested for 9.2. So you would like to request a z-stream fix, correct? It would need to be approved by @tpopela.
The request was for CentOS Stream 9 and without any specific version (that make sense as CentOS Stream 9 is continuously released - http://mirror.stream.centos.org/9-stream/CRB/x86_64/os/Packages/libwebp-tools-1.2.0-3.el9.x86_64.rpm) and as such was fulfilled. We won't be adding packages to the CRB in already released RHEL versions.
Hi Tomas, Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was under the impression that when a package was added to Stream, that it would then filter down to RHEL in the next point release. Am I misunderstanding that? Should I have specifically requested the package for RHEL 9.1? As I understand it, this package will make it to RHEL in 9.2 now? Is that correct? Or do I need to specifically request that? Basically, I'm just trying to get this package into RHEL and if I'm following the wrong process, I want to know and correct it. If you don't mind, please point me to the correct place. :) Many thanks!

That will allow our Support team to assess and route things properly on the RHEL side. As for this bug, the package is available in CentOS Stream and will eventually be included in the next minor release of RHEL 9 when that becomes available.

No, that's true - you described it well, but you reported the bug after we internally finished the 9.1.0 development and moved to 9.2.0 and this request wouldn't fulfill the criteria to fix it in the later phase of 9.1.0 development. > Should I have specifically requested the package for RHEL 9.1? Even if you would requested the 9.1.0, we would decline that and introduce it for 9.2.0. > As I understand it, this package will make it to RHEL in 9.2 now? Is that > correct? Or do I need to specifically request that? No need to specifically request anything it's part of the CentOS Stream 9 now (see http://mirror.stream.centos.org/9-stream/CRB/x86_64/os/Packages/libwebp-tools-1.2.0-3.el9.x86_64.rpm) and will be part of the RHEL 9.2.0 release. > Basically, I'm just trying to get this package into RHEL and if I'm > following the wrong process, I want to know and correct it. If you don't > mind, please point me to the correct place. :) You did everything right and used the right process.
Thanks so much guys! That all makes perfect sense to me and I want to thank you for your time and effort on this. Very helpful!
