Description Jonathan Wright 2022-09-02 22:13:55 UTC
Please branch and build python-cryptography in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain python-cryptography in epel9,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-cryptography/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: jonathanspw).

I can be the primary contact for EPEL (FAS: jonathanspw).

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 38 development cycle.
Changing version to 38.

Comment 2 Christian Heimes 2023-08-14 04:49:31 UTC
python-cryptography package is present in c9s and RHEL 9 BaseOS. EPEL can only provides extra packages, which are not already in RHEL.

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/#what_is_extra_packages_for_enterprise_linux_or_epel
> EPEL packages are usually based on their Fedora counterparts and will never conflict with or replace packages in the base Enterprise Linux distributions.
