Description David Jaša 2022-10-05 09:26:54 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently, NM is missing 801-1x/802-11-wifi option analogous to vpn.persistent that would allow user to connect to one-time-password wifi, suspend laptop and move within roaming realm, resume laptop and have wifi connection resumed (in ideal case would AP expose same IP gateways as before allowing resumption of TCP connections but that's beyond client stack control) so in offices with OTP wifi and linux laptops, you can see people carrying open laptops so they don't lose their wifi connections because of the OTP hassle (also hassle of having to reconnect SSH and IRC).

Main part of this RFE is in wpa_supplicant which is outlined in bug 2132255.
