We definitely should utilize multiple threads for cleaner, similarly like we do for reporter (concurrent collection of plugins). But the situation is not such easy as it was with sosreport's plugins - see https://github.com/sosreport/sos/issues/3097 I raised.

What kind of complaints are you getting, just that it takes a while or something else? 3. How long are you seeing obfuscation take, and what do you expect it to take? 4. What kind of environments are these reports being generated from? 5. Are you able to share an example archive that generates these complaints?
