Description of problem: I configure FC6 to autenticate users vía ldap and using tls, i can configure this ok. When i use for example shell, the user id not appears: for example if i have a user called toto, in a sesion for this user, in shell the user are not defined, appears "[I have no name!@tux ~]#" and not "[toto@tux ~]" So, look for service nscd and is down, but when i start him, i can't autenticate my users again. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): nscd (GNU libc) 2.5
Lam isn't related to nscd at all, changing component to glibc.
Most likely you configured ldap incorrectly, the user under which nscd is running (usually nscd user) needs to be able to query the ldap server.
¿can i specify in "/etc/nscd.conf" that this user is a ldap root bind? ¿if i can do this, how nscd knows his password (he take from "/etc/ldap.secret")? Thanks!!!
hi, i resolve the problem, i used nscd default configuration that he use a nscd count like server user, to fix i comment the lines "server-user nscd" and "stat-user nocpulse". Thanks for your help!!!! PD: sorry for put this problem in bug seccion, and again... a lot of thanks!!! ;)
