Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 216842
Can't install tracker; yum wants to install mikmod instead.
Last modified: 2014-01-21 17:56:28 EST
Description of problem:
I try to install a package called "tracker" from Fedora Extras and yum wants to
install mikmod and not tracker.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a terminal window.
2. Type "sudo yum -y install tracker". Supply password when prompted.
Watch yum try to install mikmod instead of tracker.
Yum should install tracker and its dependencies.
See the logs where I search for the tracker package and try to install it.

What I get when I search for tracker. Two tracker packages are available. Neither will install.

I've found the bug and it should be fixed in yum 3.0.2. I just need to clean it
up and test one more thing.
