Description Jenifer Abrams 2023-02-21 22:15:14 UTC
Describe the issue:
The 4.12 baremetal uninstall docs point to the KCS:
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openshift_data_foundation/4.12/html/deploying_openshift_data_foundation_using_bare_metal_infrastructure/uninstalling_openshift_data_foundation

As far as I understand, starting with 4.12 some steps are needed to remove the disaster-protection finalizers in mon and mon-endpoints, however I don't see it mentioned in the Uninstall KCS:
https://access.redhat.com/articles/6525111

Describe the task you were trying to accomplish:
Uninstall ODF 4.12

Suggestions for improvement:
Add the appropriate steps to complete 4.12 uninstall.

What works for me is manually editing to remove the 'ceph.rook.io/disaster-protection' finalizer from:
oc edit configmap -n openshift-storage rook-ceph-mon-endpoints
oc edit secrets -n openshift-storage rook-ceph-mon
