Description Nicholas Covolus 2023-02-23 19:59:54 UTC
Please branch and build zabbix-agent2.

https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/current/en/manual/concepts/agent2

Comment 1 Nicholas Covolus 2023-02-23 22:10:00 UTC
There are also a number of plugins that work with zabbix-agent2, e.g.,

zabbix-agent2-plugin-ceph
zabbix-agent2-plugin-docker
zabbix-agent2-plugin-mysql

https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/current/en/manual/config/items/plugins

Comment 2 Orion Poplawski 2023-02-23 22:33:35 UTC
zabbix-agent2 is built with go - and the last time I tried there was a *lot* of work needed to do in order to build it for Fedora.

Any reason why this bug is marked a private?

Comment 3 Nicholas Covolus 2023-02-23 23:41:20 UTC
Did not mean to mark this as private. Apologies.

Comment 4 jeff 2023-08-09 04:43:40 UTC
Why not re-use the srpm provided by Zabbix?

Comment 5 Gwyn Ciesla 2023-10-11 18:01:47 UTC
We're missing golang(github.com/go-ldap/ldap)

Comment 6 Aoife Moloney 2023-11-23 01:19:16 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 37 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 37 on 2023-12-05.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
'version' of '37'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version'
to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden.
Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora Linux 37 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version
prior to this bug being closed.

Comment 7 Jrm 2023-12-19 15:18:17 UTC
I'm really hoping that this could be done some day.

Comment 8 Aoife Moloney 2024-01-12 22:50:56 UTC
Fedora Linux 37 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2023-12-05.

Fedora Linux 37 is no longer maintained, which means that it
will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we
are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora Linux
please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Note that the version
field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see
the version field.

If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against an
active release.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

I will be (very slowly) working on this here: https://src.fedoraproject.org/fork/orion/rpms/zabbix/tree/go

There are a lot of missing go deps in Fedora.

Comment 10 Aoife Moloney 2024-02-15 22:56:06 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 40 development cycle.
Changing version to 40.

This issue also affects current and future versions. Should this be reopened?

Comment 14 Orion Poplawski 2025-11-07 02:51:41 UTC
I don't mind leaving it open - but I don't have any time to work on this. PRs welcome.
