I ran Terminal from nautilus and after few seconds, nautilus crashed.
I'm not really sure if there is a connection.
That's all I can say.

Comment 16 Arne 2023-05-22 08:27:26 UTC
This has happened repeatedly. Steps to reproduce :
1) Mount a remote SFTP folder
2) Start a lengthy file operation, for example move a large number of files or copy something
3) While the file operation is still in progress open a different folder in the same Nautilus tab (for example open the parent folder)

I think this might be caused because Nautilus is unable to handle mutliple operations in parallel via SFTP (i.e. it cannot move / copy files in the background and list the contents of a directory at the same time)

Expected behavior would be to either do both in parallel or wait until the background operation finishes, then list the contents of the folder

Tried to cut & paste a long list of files between two windows, each displaying a different folder. One of the folders was on an external drive.

- Copied/moved/deleted some folders from MTP device to the computer.
- Use back-navigation in Nautilus (that might have taken me to a non-longer existing folder, not sure about that).
- Nautilus hangs (spinner, but no progress), after a while I notice that it has crashed.

I've tried to open folder in Visual Code app but window was somekind not responsive.
Behavior observed few times, when "open folder" seams to be inactive it's possible to click "cancel" and try once again without issue.
Looks like wayland issue, got similar problem not rendered window with other applications as well f.ex. VMware Horizon client, but when application window is moved to main display everything seams to render correctly.
Issue ocurrs only when all my 3 displays are connected.

This crash was created by dragging a jpg file to the parent folder of the current directory in the address bar, in order to move it. The app then crashed.

This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 38 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 38 on 2024-05-21.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
'version' of '38'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version'
to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden.
Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora Linux 38 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version
prior to this bug being closed.

Comment 39 Aoife Moloney 2024-05-21 14:36:47 UTC
Fedora Linux 38 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-05-21.

Fedora Linux 38 is no longer maintained, which means that it
will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we
are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora Linux
please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Note that the version
field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see
the version field.

If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against an
active release.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
