Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
The HTML Report generated for the successfully executed remote execution job creates a table. The table cells should be formatted with style tags that assume pre-formatted text.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): All Satellite versions including Satellite 6.13
How reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Ensure remote execution is configured in Satellite. For reference: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2650071
2. Navigate to Satellite WebUI -> Hosts-> All Hosts (select host) -> Action -> Schedule Remote Execution -> Select Job to run -> Execute any job and ensure the remote execution job is successfully completed.
3. Click on "Create Report" at the right top corner. Select "Output Format" as "HTML" and then "Generate" the report.
Actual results:
The HTML report produced for the results of a Job Template run creates a table.
Expected results:
It would be better if the table cells were formatted with style tags that assume pre-formatted text. Request to have below tag added to the style section in the HEAD of the generated table within HTML report:
td { vertical-align: top; text-align: start; font-family: monospace; white-space: pre; }
<html><head><title>Jobs - Invocation report template</title><style>th { background-color: black; color: white; }
table,th,td { border-collapse: collapse; border: 1px solid black; } td { vertical-align: top; text-align: start; font-family: monospace; white-space: pre; }
</style></head>
The formatting/style request only applies to reports generated in HTML format from the Job run.
Additional info: Currently user has to hand edit each HTML report file to add the tag. Having this RFE implemented will give a better user experience and will save the efforts of hand editing each HTML report.
