Description of problem: When the "Save as... " or "Open ..." dialogue is getting initiated I am used to type the beginning letters of the subdirectory and in Fedira 36 and earlier only a recursive saerch was started, beginning in the actual direcotry. In Fedora 37 and 38 the search is not recursively but is looking through the whole disk, what makes this kind of "acceleration" indeed a much more slowlier process than to scroll through the list of subdirs. I hope that is not intended or at least configureable, because that really slows me down during my day-to-day work. ;) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gtk4-4.10.1-1.fc38.x86_64 How reproducible: every time when "Open..." or "Save as ..." dialogues are initiated. Steps to Reproduce: 1.open a document and use the "Save as..." button 2.click in the field with the files and directories 3.start to type some letters Actual results: instead of searching recursivley it starts to search on the whole disk Expected results: just a recursive search downwards of the recent directory Additional info:
Could you file this upstream at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk , please?
thanks for the response. I did it, see: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/5774 I changed that status to "closed" - upstream and I hope that is the way it supposed to be. ben
Excellent, thank you!
