Description Robert Scheck 2023-04-23 00:29:14 UTC
Description of problem:
IcedTea-Web is absent in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, but bash-completion-2.11-4.el9 still ships a completion file for it (while IcedTea-Web ships its own completion file if installed manually; latter even leads to a file conflict then).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
bash-completion-2.11-4.el9

How reproducible:
Everytime, see below.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. rpm -qvl bash-completion | grep /javaws

Actual results:
/usr/share/bash-completion/completions/javaws

Expected results:
No more /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/javaws

Additional info:
Bug #2188865 is the same report for Fedora (as RHEL upstream).

Comment 1 Siteshwar Vashisht 2023-06-16 09:39:35 UTC
I am removing needinfo as I need to follow up on Fedora first (bug 2188865).

Comment 2 Robert Scheck 2023-06-17 22:53:20 UTC
Pull request in bug #2188865 comment #4 got merged for Fedora, thus it should be fine for RHEL 9.3, too?

Comment 3 Robert Scheck 2023-07-17 17:05:12 UTC
Siteshwar, what prevents this bug report from being worked on for RHEL 9.3?
