Oo I had not found that bugzilla. The customer had mentioned they were having this issue on 8.6 so let me review their logs and ensure they were using 8.6 as the installer as well as share that link with them

This needs to be discussed with the Anaconda team. --interactive was removed because it makes it more difficult to maintain, the pykickstart part of things is not the core part of what would be needed to make this work again.

It is also very late in the RHEL 8 lifecycle for a change like this, so I expect the chances of it being accepted are even lower than for RHEL 9.
