I'd had a problem with Ear Tag app lcoked up but not force quiting. Was trying to kill the process with System Monitor but that was also not working. Did a restart bute the system failed to start. I'm not using Wayland but only Gnome Xorg.
I logged in at the Gnome login prompt. I did nothing else - eventually, the system just froze. reporter: libreport-2.17.11 type: CCpp reason: systemd killed by SIGABRT journald_cursor: s=4ae37e65491f4b5398a6314a3ebfb60d;i=1c59b38;b=3c8695ab89404e19b258cdcd8d71caff;m=574fd33;t=61300aaa03da5;x=5abb9c49feead61f executable: /usr/lib/systemd/systemd cmdline: /usr/lib/systemd/systemd --user cgroup: 0::/user.slice/user-42.slice/user/init.scope rootdir: / uid: 42 kernel: 6.7.7-100.fc38.x86_64 package: systemd-253.15-2.fc38 runlevel: N 5 backtrace_rating: 4 crash_function: epoll_wait comment: I logged in at the Gnome login prompt. As Zbyszek wrote in bug 2257858 comment 21: > crash_function: epoll_wait So the "crash" is really an abort when the program is stuck, waiting for the kernel to schedule it again. As I wrote above, it's hard to figure out what is going on. Maybe the system is overloaded, or maybe there are hardware problems. In any case, I don't see much sense in keeping this open, as there's nothing we could do on systemd's side.
