Updating IdM packages Describe the issue: IdM experts have recommended that users should not skip RHEL minor versions when updating their RHEL servers. This has been documented for RHEL 7: _Linux Domain Identity, Authentication, and Policy Guide_ Chapter 8.1.1, "Considerations for Updating Identity Management" https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html/linux_domain_identity_authentication_and_policy_guide/updating-migrating#update-ipa-prereqs ...as well as in 2 Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) solutions: Patching Red Hat Identity Management Server https://access.redhat.com/solutions/5414771 Can I upgrade IdM/IPA skipping point releases? https://access.redhat.com/solutions/5464801 Yet, the RHEL 8 documentation cited above lacks this warning. Suggestions for improvement: Customers should be warned of not skipping RHEL minor versions up front, in the documentation, instead of just in some KCS solutions they do not know to look for until a problem has already been encountered.
