Description Dusty Mabe 2023-06-13 15:14:34 UTC
A new release is available. It would be nice to get this into Fedora: https://gitlab.com/virtio-fs/virtiofsd/-/tags/v1.6.1

We'd like to include it in our build tooling for Fedora CoreOS. See https://github.com/coreos/coreos-assembler/pull/3428#issuecomment-1529703055

Reproducible: Always

It's been a few months now since 1.6.0 was released. Can we get an update in Fedora please?

Comment 2 German Maglione 2023-07-10 09:33:33 UTC
We plan to release a new version soon, that will be included in Fedora (we have had to wait for some dependencies to release a new version)

Comment 3 Sergio Lopez 2023-07-12 14:55:04 UTC
I've just started doing a bulk update of rust-vmm dependencies that will include virtiofsd 1.7.0. Sorry that it took so long, but the fact that rust-vmm components are so highly-coupled and still providing 0.x versions makes everything much more complicated than it should be.

Comment 4 Dusty Mabe 2023-07-12 15:52:51 UTC
Thank you Sergio. Once you've got all the dependencies updated do you think we'll be able to get 1.7.0 in F38 or will we have to wait for F39?

Comment 5 Sergio Lopez 2023-07-12 16:38:28 UTC
Yes, I'm fairly sure we'll be able to push the changes to F38.
