Comment 4 Ben Beasley 2024-01-19 14:31:43 UTC
Looks like the final release is available: https://github.com/adobe-type-tools/afdko/releases/tag/4.0.1

I adjusted https://release-monitoring.org/project/57202/ so that alpha releases won’t look newer than final releases in the future.

Comment 5 Ben Beasley 2024-05-09 15:27:45 UTC
I don’t *really* want to do the packaging work for this update in a PR myself, because this package is a little messy and I have other things to work on, but I do want to unblock the current version of python-cffsubr, and it would be really good in general to offer a current release instead of one from early 2021.

Will either of the current maintainers be able to update this package in the coming weeks or months? Is there anything particular you need help with? I can try to find time to work up a PR if that’s what it takes. Thanks!

Comment 6 Jens Petersen 2024-05-10 07:55:58 UTC
It looks like a larger amount of work indeed, since they appear to have moved to cmake.

Comment 7 Jens Petersen 2024-05-10 07:58:22 UTC
Manish, can you have a look at this please?

Comment 8 Jens Petersen 2024-06-06 08:57:39 UTC
Manish is looking at it but it seems tricky since in rawhide the version of antlr4 appears to be too new to build adfko...
Though any help would be welcome too.

Comment 9 Jens Petersen 2024-06-25 08:35:06 UTC
I opened https://github.com/adobe-type-tools/afdko/issues/1748 anyway... just to check what upstream is planning ;-)

Comment 10 Manish Tiwari 2024-06-25 19:00:35 UTC
Opened Pull Request: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/adobe-afdko/pull-request/3#
- Updated to release 4.0.1
- Switched to CMake build
- Bundled antlr4-cpp-runtime-4.9.3
- Removed following two patches, as these changes are implemented by upstream
- Adobe-afdko-c99-1.patch --> [https://github.com/adobe-type-tools/afdko/blob/c979eb7fd29b431ec9cfc0518dcff5a4a4c8d7f5/c/makeotf/lib/hotconv/STAT.c#L304]
- adobe-afdko-c99-2.patch --> [https://github.com/adobe-type-tools/afdko/blob/c979eb7fd29b431ec9cfc0518dcff5a4a4c8d7f5/c/shared/source/t1write/t1write.c#L349]

Hi Ben, I have raised a pr https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/adobe-afdko/pull-request/3 to update afdko to latest afdko-4.0.1 version.
can you please confirm it, whether it is working fine with python-cffsubr
Thanks

Thanks for working on this! I opened https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-cffsubr/pull-request/7 and tested it in a local mock build with https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/adobe-afdko/pull-request/3. All the tests passed, so it seems to be working as expected.
