The issue reported in https://pagure.io/rpkg/issue/694 and https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/83548, which seemed solved in the PR of https://pagure.io/rpkg/pull-request/695, can it have the possibility that the PR as a patch to rpkg package, since new release out for the time being?

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle.
Changing version to 39.
