Description GroovieMan 2023-07-19 18:23:54 UTC
Since 2 weeks i notice some strage Freeze situation or a hangup during startup. The change of the recent kernel update did not change the situation at all.

* the notebook is a Ryzen9 5900HX with a Nvidia RTX-3060 that also serves the AltDP connected displays
* the desktop is a Ryzen 7 5700G with 3 onnoard display connector that servers 3 4K displays

The F37 was rocksolid, the current F38 is instable since 2-3 weeks on both system. Sometimes the Login-Screen is starving at starttime or during a work-break 2 of 3 displays go offline and the remainign desktop gots frozen.
First i thought it might be an UI issuse (on both systems i am runniong gnome/wayland) but the ssh remote loging hangs after accepting the login, but no prompt is there.
Maybe the home-drive-filesystem has an issue.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.startup of the system is freezing
2.sometiome the syste gots frozen after a short work break
3.or during work (rare)
Actual Results:
Freeze

Expected Results:
a situation i knew from F37

feel free to contact me in order to get some logs.

I noticed some updates around mutter (non kernel), the desktop lockup did not occur in the meantime.
Thank you all!
