Yarn 1.x at https://github.com/yarnpkg/yarn has been deprecated and frozen for almost a year now. Development (features & fixes) is now happening on 3.x branch at https://github.com/yarnpkg/berry. An upgrade is sorely overdue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: N/A Actual Results: N/A Expected Results: N/A
I tried to look into it, but in the time spent on it I didn't really manage to understand how to build it from source. Hence I wonder whether the correct approach is rather to just install it via npm and retire the fedora package. Input welcome.
It's typescript, so I don't think there is a "build step". There's an AUR package (https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=yarn-berry) that just copies the files. Now admittedly there is a lack of packaging documentation/recommendation/guide from the authors. I have submitted an issue in their repo: https://github.com/yarnpkg/berry/issues/5628.
According to upstream, yarn-v3 is not meant to be packaged. Closing therefore.
