Description Robert Story 2023-08-02 20:26:59 UTC
NOTE: I'm guessing at component.. Also, I'm running F38 KDE spin.

I have an external monitor mirroring my laptop screen and and power setting to not sleep when lid is closed while an external monitor is connected. When I close the lid, KDE/plasma menus/apps have about a 2 second lag. eg clicking on anything in the panel, or bringing up krunner (and then typing anything there). As soon as I open the lid again, the lag disappears.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. connect external monitor
2. configure power to not sleepon lid close when external monitor connected
3. close lid
4. click on panel to switch apps or open Fedor app menu.
5. run KDE system/config panel, try typing in search field.
Actual Results:
text and clicks have about a 2 second lag as long as lid is closed

Expected Results:
no lag

same result for wired or wireless usb keyboards/mice.

sorry, forgot to mention that this only appears to affect KDE apps. menu clicks and text on other apps (eg firefox, konsole, my mail client, etc) remains responsive.
