Would you consider updating openvpn to 2.6 in EPEL9? Per the changelog there do not appear to be any breaking changes and it would be a much better branch to be "stuck" on for the life of EL9 given the OpenSSL 3 and DCO support. I'm happy to help maintain the EPEL side of things if help is needed. FAS jonathanspw
Thank you for your interest. Moving to OpenVPN 2.6 for EPEL-9 has been considered but decided not to go that path, simply because there are some chances some configurations may break. I did such a move when going from 2.3 to 2.4 and got flogged for doing a major update for CentOS users. There is always going to be enough users where 2.6 will break, like configurations using ciphers not supported in OpenSSL 3 and requires additional configuration. To give users OpenVPN 2.6 I'm maintaining this Fedora Copr repo: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/dsommers/openvpn-release-2.6/
