Description Nolan Poe 2024-03-09 05:54:02 UTC
Spec URL: https://github.com/np22-jpg/perl-parallel-forker/blob/rawhide/perl-parallel-forker.spec
SRPM URL: https://github.com/np22-jpg/perl-parallel-forker/blob/rawhide/perl-parallel-forker-1.260-1.fc39.src.rpm
Description: Parallel::Forker is a Perl package to manage parallel
processes that are either subroutines or system commands.
Parallel::Forker supports being able to specify complicated
expressions to determine which processes run after others,
or processes that run when processes others fail.

This is my first package and I need a sponsor. I am not the upstream maintainer, although I'd like to make this package available for use in Verilator

Comment 1 Fedora Review Service 2024-03-09 16:02:49 UTC
Copr build:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/build/7129670
(failed)

Build log:
https://download.copr.fedorainfracloud.org/results/@fedora-review/fedora-review-2268659-perl-parallel-forker/srpm-builds/07129670/builder-live.log.gz

Please make sure the package builds successfully at least for Fedora Rawhide.

- If the build failed for unrelated reasons (e.g. temporary network
  unavailability), please ignore it.
- If the build failed because of missing BuildRequires, please make sure they
are listed in the "Depends On" field

Comment 4 Nolan Poe 2024-03-20 23:45:53 UTC
I have found a package to co-maintain and have been sponsored. As a result, I no longer need one.

The tutorial on submitting new packages also mentioned linking a valid koji build if applicable:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=115223221

Comment 10 Peter Oliver 2024-08-23 16:46:53 UTC
Swap you a review for Call::Context (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2276414)?

Comment 11 Peter Oliver 2024-08-23 18:21:35 UTC
- Perl RPM packages are usually named, e.g., perl-Parallel-Forker (i.e., with the same case as the contained Perl module, Parallel::Forker).
- Please specify BuildRequires for individual modules required, rather than pulling in lots of unneeded packages with `BuildRequires: perl`.
- Please contact upstream to ask that they include the licence text in a separate file.
- I believe that the License field should contain an OR not an AND.
- I think it makes more sense to specify README.pod with %doc rather than %license.
