If discovered earlier, this would have been a F41 blocker-bug. Name : cinnamon Version : 6.2.9 Release : 1.fc41 Architecture: x86_64 Install Date: Mo 04 Nov 2024 10:57:57 CET As it looks the german langpacks have been installed and german is selected: [root@fedora linuxamdienstag]# echo $LANG de_DE.UTF-8 [root@fedora linuxamdienstag]# dnf list lang* Updating and loading repositories: Fedora 41 openh264 (From Cisco) - x86_64 100% | 4.2 KiB/s | 6.0 KiB | 00m01s Fedora 41 - x86_64 100% | 15.2 MiB/s | 35.4 MiB | 00m02s Fedora 41 - x86_64 - Updates 100% | 6.6 MiB/s | 3.3 MiB | 00m00s RPM Fusion for Fedora 41 - Nonfree - Updates 100% | 39.4 KiB/s | 22.9 KiB | 00m01s RPM Fusion for Fedora 41 - Nonfree 100% | 413.0 KiB/s | 98.7 KiB | 00m00s PVA 41 - x86_64 100% | 19.0 KiB/s | 3.9 KiB | 00m00s RPM Fusion for Fedora 41 - Free 100% | 272.4 KiB/s | 157.7 KiB | 00m01s RPM Fusion for Fedora 41 - Free - Updates 100% | 91.8 KiB/s | 17.2 KiB | 00m00s Repositories loaded. There also does not seem to be a language select option anywhere on Cinnamon, at least i was unable to find a preftools to change or check the keyboard layout. The required TAB of "Keyboardlayout" has been removed from the "Keyboard" Prefs App. Bug was discovered directly after upgrading from F40 > F41. Reproducible: Always
If your using wayland this is expected, layouts are working fine here with xorg session.
So Wayland has only support for english?????? Can't believe that ;) Your right, switching back to X11 Session and TAB and Keyboardlayout are back. If i may ask, if x11 shall be removed from Fedora, how shall non-english users use Cinnamon? (wayland + gmd is also buggy as hell, reproduceable by logging out)
cinnamon-wayland is experimental, note the session name when selecting it in the DM. https://github.com/linuxmint/wayland/issues/14 Do you seriously think Xorg is going to be dropped anytime soon?, IMO it will still be present in distro's for at least another decade.
fixed in upcoming release.
(In reply to customercare from comment #4) > fixed in upcoming release. I have a copr for f43 testing https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/leigh123linux/cin_dev/
