Changing component.
Comment 2 Tomas Mraz 2007-03-21 13:11:55 EDT
I cannot reproduce this on fully updated RHEL4. Can you strace the su -
<username> and attach the output here?

Strace of sudo su -

Plz see the attachement it has the requested strace
Comment 4 Tomas Mraz 2007-03-21 16:08:17 EDT
The strace is unfortunately completely unusable. Is it possible that the strace
is 32bit and the sudo su - 64bit? Or vice versa? Also you mention su - in the
original report and sudo su - in strace?

No, not really - the strace is broken - notice the 'umovestr: Input/output
error' messages in every syscall trace.

You should report the problem using your support contact. You can mention this
bugzilla number there.
https://www.redhat.com/apps/support/

This way it can be properly diagnosed and fixed if it is a real problem.

Thank you.
