Description Chaim Frenkel 2001-01-11 17:58:21 UTC
The Asus A7V onboard Promise ATA-100 controller is not recognized or seen
even when the 'correct' idex= boot parameters are supplied.

cat /proc/pci shows ioports 8800, 8400, 8000, 7800.

According to the various instructions I am supposed to boot with the
following command from the boot disk

      linux ide2=8800,8402 ide3=8000,7802

But only the 'regular' ide0, and ide1 controllers are recognized.

Support for these newer IDE chipsets will come with the 2.4 kernel.

Deferring for now.
