Last modified: 2008-02-09 13:55:07 EST
Description of problem:
Settings for the proxy cannot be found in Preferences.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Pidgin
2. In Buddy List window, go to Tools -> Preferences
3. Go to Network tab, look
there is no "Proxy Server" section
there is a "Proxy Server" section
Are you using GNOME?
When Pidgin is running in GNOME it uses the proxy settings from GNOME. You'll
have to configure them there.
Is there no way to set Pidgin's proxy settings independently of other appolications?
There is, but only if GNOME is not running.
Actually you can always set per-account proxy settings whether running GNOME or
not - Accounts -> select account -> Edit Account -> Advanced -> Proxy type.
This isn't going to change.
