Every time I try to run rpm2cpio, I get the message:

cannot re-open payload: Success

and the program dies. Do you know of any other way to
extract a file from an RPM (without installing it)?

Red Hat 6.2 with EVERY update installed (current RPM
of rpm: rpm-3.0.5-9.6x.i386.rpm).

Normal syntax: rpm2cpio < package.rpm (also tried
cat package.rpm | rpm2cpio).

Do either
	rpm2cpio package.rpm | ...
	rpm2cpio - < package.rpm | ...
