Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided
above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful
in our diagnosis of this issue.

Please attach your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log
file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file
attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link below.

Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf whatsoever and
let X11 autodetect your display and video card? Attach to this bug
/var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt as well, please.

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

X log without xorg.conf

Without xorg.conf my system hangs completely and I need to power cycle the
machine. And no TV output either.

Comment 5 Dave Airlie 2007-08-29 01:08:28 UTC
tv-out support is pretty experimental so far, so I'll see what I can figure out
upstream...

Comment 6 Daniel Qarras 2007-08-29 15:29:37 UTC
Thanks for looking into this. I noticed the experimental state of tv-out support
but just wanted to make this bug for reporting how it works.

Comment 7 Daniel Qarras 2007-08-31 19:43:24 UTC
Actually there's an upstream bug report so I think this one can be closed.

Comment 8 Matěj Cepl 2007-10-29 17:42:31 UTC
I agree, this should be resolved upstream first. We will continue to track the
issue in the centralized upstream bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes
that become available for consideration in future updates.

Thank you for the bug report.

Comment 9 Bernard Godard 2009-09-09 07:04:50 UTC
The upstream bug mentioned is not the same : it is about garbled TV output.

With mobility x700 (I have one too), there is no TV-output at all. The driver doesn't even know about TV-output according to xrandr:
__________________________
xrandr -q
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 800, maximum 4096 x 4096
VGA-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
LVDS connected 1280x800+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm

  800x600 60.3 56.2
  640x480 59.9

The laptop hardware is the same (different brand though) as the one
in this bug report :
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=503755 (corrected in
latest rawhide)
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13720
My graphics card has exactly the same video bios rom as the one
attached in the report in
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13720

I have DRI2 and KMS working.

I would like to report this bug upstream, but where should I report it
(kernel (KMS), xorg...)?
