# /etc/init.d/anacron restart
Shutting down anacron
Starting anacron              [OK]

No [OK] on shutdown. Very prominent on shutdown of the machine.

You'll see an [OK] here if you shutdown your computer just in that minute
when anacron actually runs. This is not a daemon which runs permanently but
one that will be started by a cron job.
