somewhere between RHEL3 update 8 and RHEL4 update 4, sar lost the -p (pretty 
print) flag. This breaks a number of scripts and is hampering efforts to move 
from 3_8 to 4_4 or later.

Can we get it back? 


from the 3 update 8 man page:

       -p     Pretty-print device names.  By  default  names  are  printed  as
              devn-m  where  n  and  m are the major and minor numbers for the
              device.  Use of this option displays the names of the devices as
              they  (should)  appear in /dev.  Name mappings are controlled by
              /etc/sysconfig/sysstat.ioconf.

This bug is fixed in sysstat-5.0.5-16.rhel4.
