This completely locks the system requiring a hard reset or power cycle. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot from CDROM. 2. Run installer in text mode, graphical installer dosen't give any feedback just a blank screen. 3. Actual Results: System hang on installation boot. This is a known bug which slipped in with a bug to fix a SMP race. Later kernels have this fixed; rawhide has such kernels, I'm not sure if it has new install .iso's
