I edited script manually for my drives. It now works

You should not edit the script, but /etc/sysconfig/hddtemp instead.

Please copy-paste the full, exact error message you see, and let me know where
you see it (console, /var/log/messages, where).  If you haven't configured
/etc/sysconfig/hddtemp, you should see this, not the error message you posted:

# /etc/init.d/hddtemp start
Unconfigured: hddtemp, see /etc/sysconfig/hddtemp:         [FAILED]
