Description Christopher 2007-10-29 16:46:56 UTC
Description of problem:

New server deployment. Newly purchased license through hosting company. Trying
to run up2date for the first time ever. I get an error as indicated below
(sorry for the formatting). Can you please help me get by this? Perhaps there
is something on the system configured which is blocking up2date's ability to
register? I only have a command line access and no GUI.

I've confirmed that this happens even after a reboot of the server....

[root@74 rumpf]# rpm -q up2date
up2date-4.4.69-25
[root@74 rumpf]#

[root@74 rumpf]# wget -q -O - https://rhn.redhat.com/help/new-cert.sh | /bin/bash
The file /usr/share/rhn/RHNS-CA-CERT has already been updated.
No further action is necessary.

Comment 2 Christopher 2007-10-29 23:51:40 UTC
Well I tried deleting this dir:
rm -rf /etc/sysconfig/rhn/*

to start over from scratch and now I am getting this whenever I execute up2date:
[root@74 download]# up2date --register
No rhnuuid config option found in /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date-uuid.
[root@74 download]# up2date --configure
No rhnuuid config option found in /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date-uuid.
[root@74 download]#

Can someone please have a look at this with me?

Thanks,
-c
