Description Ondrej Valousek 2007-12-06 08:43:21 EST
Description of problem:
system-config-netboot contains a script called updateDiskless which creates a
initrd image for diskless machines. From the latest development I can see that
mkinitrd is aiming to support booting over net/pxe/nfs as well. It would be nice
if functionality of updateDiskless is covered in mkinitrd so that the same thing
is not developed twice.
This is just a thought.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:
updateDiskless is a standalone script

Expected results:
updateDiskless is fully replaced by mkinitrd

System-config-netboot is entering maintainance-only phase and the whole package will be deprecated soon. There are no plans for active development, only high severity issues bugfixing.
