Could you download and test the latest 4.0.3 release from: ftp://people.redhat.com/mharris/testing I believe that the problem may be fixed in the new packages, although I do not have hardware with which to test.
The missing symbols are fixed in 4.0.3-21, however it is also aparent from the above log that either you are not running xfs, or something is messed up with your font configuration.
