Description of problem: There is no association of k3b with .iso files in gnome desktop. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): k3b-1.0.4-3.fc8 How reproducible: Right-click on .iso file from gnome nautilus. Actual results: No k3b in context menu. Expected results: K3b in context menu. Additional info: Not sure how it is influence, but: There exists file /usr/share/applnk/.hidden/k3b-iso.desktop Mime-type there is application/x-iso but nautilus file properties say that .iso file mime is application/x-cd-image.
Looks like kde's and gnome's notion of what and .iso's mimetype may differ. ugh. If you modify k3b-iso.desktop to contain instead: MimeType=application/x-iso;application/x-cd-image; and then run: update-desktop-database Does that help?
Unfortunately, this doesn't help.
I copied k3b-iso.desktop to /usr/share/applications. Now, I get k3b in context menu. I'm guessing that /usr/share/applnk is directory that only kde is using. But looks like there will be a problem with .cue files - in gnome they have same application/x-cd-image mime, but seems that other command is needed to open them in k3b (file k3b-cue.desktop is different).
