Description Reindl Harald 2008-01-05 02:55:12 UTC
All seems to be ok
WLAN (iwl3945) works without troubles, but dmesg shows some not so good messages

Comment 1 Reindl Harald 2008-01-07 18:58:55 UTC
Yes it only appears to 2.6.23.12-101.fc8
If have installed the following kernels from koji-buildserver (no one of them
was ever released public) and build 101 is the first with this error at end of
dmesg.

My configuration is a iwl3945 witdh static-ip and wpa2 with wpa_supplicant, wlan
works fine - the message in dmesg makes no problems in any way - but it is new
in build 101.

Comment 3 John W. Linville 2008-01-10 13:40:48 UTC
This issue is well understood upstream. Please note that this is merely a
warning and only indicates a true problem on a handful of architectures (none
of them "mainstream").

Should anyone decide to add "me too" comments, please indicate what wireless
hardware you are using (or just include 'lspci -n' output) when you see the
WARNING...thanks!

Comment 6 John W. Linville 2008-01-18 15:36:42 UTC
Not surprising, since there have been no patches to fix this minor issue.

I'm sorry that it annoys you to find this in your logs. Hopefully the iwlwifi
team will attend to the issue shortly.

Comment 7 Reindl Harald 2008-01-18 15:44:18 UTC
OK - To make it easier please add a reply here if anythings change with a link
to the koji-package, so i will download it and make a report

Comment 8 John W. Linville 2008-01-18 15:48:03 UTC
Certainly!

Comment 9 Christopher Brown 2008-01-29 22:25:16 UTC
Does anyone mind if the bug subject gets changed to something a little more
helpful here?

Comment 10 John W. Linville 2008-02-07 19:31:25 UTC
This should be resolved (i.e. the warning is gone) in the test kernels here:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=34341

Similarly, the problem will be resolved shortly after F8 gets 2.6.24-based
kernels.

Comment 11 Reindl Harald 2008-02-10 19:00:31 UTC
Thank you for the information
I was so crazy to install the last f9-kernel on my f8-notebook
Seems to running perfectly, so i wait with good feelings for a native f8-build
