Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 427767
/sbin/service says "unknown service" when it should say the real error: permission denied
Last modified: 2014-03-16 23:11:52 EDT
Description of problem:
/sbin/service says "unknown service" when it should say the real error:
permission denied <filename>
e.g: /sbin/service named
named: unrecognized service
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
You know, a init script that isn't readable/executable by anyone seems silly.
It's not like there's anything private there.
That being said, this should be fixed.
Fixed in CVS, will be in 8.61-1.
