Description Bill Nottingham 2008-01-22 21:30:58 UTC
Description of problem:

When asked to play something in a format that needs additional gst plugins,
swfdec-mozilla just silently shows a black screen (while stepping through the
movie.)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

0.5.5-2.fc9

How reproducible:

Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install swfdec-mozilla on a stock install
2. Go to youtube
3. Attempt to watch something

Actual results:

All movies resemble a video performance of John Cage's 4′33″.

Expected results:

Actual movies, or a codec error of some sort.

Yeah, I have already opened a bug upstream for this. I've talked to upstream
briefly about this, but haven't really had time to look at this closely.

btw, does the totem-mozilla plugin tie into codeina?

Comment 2 Bill Nottingham 2008-01-22 22:03:56 UTC
Doesn't appear to in one quick test. Need to find more sites that embed to know
for sure.

Yeah, I tested this a bit also, and it doesn't look like totem-moz is tied into
codeina.
