Installation goes smoothly when using Fedora Core 6 or Fedora 7 DVDs.

Comment 3 Chris Lumens 2008-03-10 09:35:18 EDT
Are there any obvious error messages displayed on tty3 or tty4?
Comment 4 Ionut Radu 2008-03-10 18:03:26 EDT
First of all I must apologize. The last messages displayed on tty1 are :

running install...
running /sbin/loader

Last messages from tty3 are :
23:49:12 INFO : loaded ext3 from /modules/modules.cgz
23:49:12 INFO : loaded ext2 from /modules/modules.cgz
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/cramfs.ko
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/fat.ko
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/vfat.ko
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/sunrpc.ko
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/lockd.ko
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/nfs_acl.ko
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/nfs.ko
23:49:12 INFO : inserted /tmp/loop.ko

Last messages from tty4 are :

<6>Freeing unused kernel memory: 280k freed
<4>Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 844k
<6>loop: module loaded
<6>input: ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse as /class/input/input2

After about 5 minutes another messages appeared on tty4 (they weren't there
initially) :
<7>APIC error on CPU0: 00(40)
<7>APIC error on CPU0: 00(40)
<7>APIC error on CPU0: 00(40)
<7>APIC error on CPU0: 00(40)

They are keep appearing. However the installation has no other progress.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

thanks,
Ionut.
Comment 5 Ionut Radu 2008-03-10 18:17:47 EDT
It seems that after another 10 minutes the installation screen appeared.
I modified the bug to "NOTABUG". Installation is not really stuck, but very very
slow. Sorry for the inconvienience.
