Comment 6 David Walluck 2008-08-27 19:44:21 UTC
This built for me in brew on ppc64. See <https://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/buildinfo?buildID=74312>, e.g., <http://porkchop.devel.redhat.com/brewroot/packages/tomcat5/5.5.23/0jpp.7.el5_2.1/ppc64/tomcat5-5.5.23-0jpp.7.el5_2.1.ppc64.rpm>.

I note a difference in the release for my builds (5_2 instead of 5_1), but the bug specifies 5.2 for the product version. Are we building on the same arch?

I also do not see why this is specific to tomcat5. You should experience the same for any Java package that has GCJ support enabled (e.g., any packages that reference %{_libdir}/gcj). Can you test some additional packages?

Comment 7 Martin Kočí 2008-08-29 06:25:22 UTC
 (In reply to comment #6)
AFAIK I have built it on rhel 5.2 release and arch. was ppcp64. Petr have you some experiences with any other Java package which has GCJ support (see comment #6) ?

Comment 8 Petr Šplíchal 2008-08-29 06:50:44 UTC
I have encountered the problem only with tomcat5.
(Haven't tested any other Java advisory yet...)
